Cyril Howard Stein

Cyril Howard Stein, 75, of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:15 P.M., Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Cyril was owner of Stein Shoe Service for thirty-seven years.  He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin.  He was also life member of Du Quoin American Legion, life member of Du Quoin V.F.W. and life member of Du Quoin Knights of Columbus.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was born August 26, 1929 at Du Quoin, IL, the son of Jacob A. and Bertha K. (Struth) Stein.
He is survived by two sisters - Rosemary Stein of Du Quoin and Roberta Jackson of Pinckneyville, two nephews - Jeff Jackson of O'Fallon, IL and Doug Jackson and wife Jill of Coulterville, IL, one niece - Kathy Glass of Du Quoin and two great nephews - Justin A. Jackson of Du Quoin and Kole O. Jackson of Coulterville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother - Bernard Stein.
Mass of Christian burial was at 10:00 A.M., Friday, October 15, 2004 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M., Thursday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Rosary was prayed at 9:30 A.M., Friday at the funeral home.
Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Du Quoin.
Military graveside rites were conducted.
Friends may make memorials to Crohns Disease, American Heart Association or Sacred Heart School.
